‘Wow! What a year it has been for us at J B Cole HQ. We’ve taken on some of our biggest projects yet, made amazing partnerships with new clients across the country and our team is growing constantly. ’

Today we’re stopping by to reminisce over what we’ve achieved in preparation for another year of progression and productivity.

We’d also like to take this chance to thank all of our amazing clients, supporters and friends of the business — you’re all incredible and we can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for you.

For now, we’ll say Merry Christmas, and let’s get down to the highlights!

New Office, New People

With ambitions for a bigger team, it was time for us to move into a bigger space earlier this year, and our new Manchester office is the perfect environment for productivity and creativity to blossom. With coffee on tap, open and airy meeting spaces and a central Manchester location, we’ve been loving our new place. It’s a great HQ for the business and is especially great when our team in London come up to co-work and catch up.

As well as a new and improved office, we’ve also gained some new team members. First up was Beth, our new Marketing and Office Assistant. She’s been creating content, updating socials and plant-shopping for our new place for almost 10 months now — spoiler alert: that’s me!

Jen, one of our freelancing developers, finally joined us full-time and the office wouldn’t be the same without her expertise (or her constant cat-related updates to slack!) As part of our growth we created a new role for a Project Delivery Assistant which Ellie quickly took to and now joins Richard in giving us all our marching orders. This week we’ve added one more to the team just in time for Christmas — Abbas, our new Developer. You’ll be hearing more about him on socials over the coming months!

Industry Presence

Since we moved to Manchester, we’ve committed to being a part of the digital community in the North-West and we’ve loved speaking to so many experts using tech to improve their industries. Our CEO Josh has continued his role as Chair of BIMA Manchester, getting involved in a varied portfolio of events to discuss the future of tech and how we can use digital to transform industries across the country.

At the end of summer, Josh was named as one of AMagazine’s

30 Under 30, a prestigious list of young innovators making waves with their businesses and endeavours.

As well as this, our Project Manager Richard was recognised on the BIMA 100 which is a huge achievement. We love it when our team gets the celebration they deserve for working so hard!

Projects, podcasts and events

Aside from internal growth, we’ve been busy this year with new clients and some of our biggest projects yet. We wrote a case study about our work with Hamerville Media Group all about how we revamped their digital approach. Check it out here.

Towards the end of the year, we launched our first podcast: Digital Evolution. In the first episode, Josh had a conversation with Sophie Walker, all about her new business Dsposal which aims to make waste management more sustainable with digital technology. We can’t wait for more episodes and great conversations in the new year.

One of our favourite events of the year was Brand Evolution, a panel of marketing experts who spoke all about mar-tech, automation and using digital to make marketing more efficient and effective. Penny Langton, Karl Barker and Mike Pye joined us in the discussion and it was great to see such productive ideas and so many experts in one room.

Keep your eyes peeled on our social media for more events like this in 2020.

If we listed all the amazing things going on this year, we might be here all day, and unfortunately, I’ve got a big stack of mince pies waiting for me! Thanks again for all your support this year, we can’t wait to see what the next one has in store.
